BARCLAY'SOUND is the first one we ll cruise, it's also the largest. This area is popular with the US boats sailing from Oregon and even from more south as the first place where they can escape the pacific swell without entering in a river mouth or an harbour; Canadian authorities recently promote UCLULET as an official canadian port of entry to help. No need anymore the motor the long return trip in Juan de Fuca strait for americans; but the fog is often the biggest challenge of the offshore passage
