NZ->AUSTRAL 4 (9-14 may) "BACK TO NORTH N 2ND DEP) 859m
On 9 may, we still have 1100 milles to sail, mostly north to arrive in RAIVAVAE n we expect SE wind to rocket in 5 days to our final destination...but nothing in this trip happend like it should happend: Instead of the trade wind, we ll get a depression on our way, then westerlies n even light northerly to finish; we ll use in fact 13 days to sail with tacks 1262m milles !
How we sailed exacltly in the middle of a dividing depression remain a mystery...
At least we could have half day with 10k+ speed and with surfing conditions on the way back north

Petrel are the 3rd kind a birds we could see so far from the shore
This what we expect from so long: pushing wind 20-30k with surfs, average speed 10+ but we ll get that only 12hours
with no shocks...

long
surfs...
The length of ALCYONE find her best conditions...

for speed between 10 n 15k in perfect safety but...
wind shift, weaken n we have now this on our road
After a short transition...

This is the war ! This time, the wind is still managable and we decide to sail full speed through the depression
On the roof of ALCYONE: collateral victim...
exactly major diet of Albatros, but with garlic

The depression divide in 2 parts...n ALCYONE run seems to be in the middle...
Bingo ! ALCYONE is just at the jonction of both system...
Misty n relativly calm morning...

...and party start again on the other tack...
This classical dress is the quickest to wear n to rince...possible because now ALCYONE sail above the 30th south
