Rotuma is a very isolated island; far north of FIJI, you cannot access to this place on a day sail, that why less than 6 boats a year visit the spot.

Additionaly, the local inhabitants are polynesian and they refuse by a vote a few year ago to open the place to mass tourism as some other Fijian south islands.

Like many remote islands, there are more Rotuman living n working outside of the place, n you find a majority of retired people there; some very wealthy as they worked in international organisations;   the arrival shows more green everywhere; the climate is much more humid than in the Yasawas;

no taxi, no hotel, almost no cars (as not easy to get spareparts) this island is a pearl n probably our best visited spot in 2017.
