This island has the same name than another one on east side of Vanua Balevu, much bigger and more popular; in fact civilisation is not too far here with Labasa reachable in a couple of hours of boat (with calm wheather), but there is no road here and still 3 villages around the island.

Last night in a reef anchorage with KIA island like a warship in the sunset...

Kia has 3 villages...one school,  between 5 and 10 cruisers  visit the island per year...

The "Sevu Sevu"...a nice tradition in these remote places !

A tank almost for each house to catch rainwater, breadfruit trees...
but when gas can be saved , still wood cooking...

From one village to another one...through the hill...moutains of main island in the far...
Kia has no car, and clearwater 3 milles around ...we love it !

These bioats are enough to fish around; we saw much more life (including lobster than any other place since we left Savu Savu

The Fidjian in Vanua Balevu are known as the nicest of whole FIJI; and the local rugby team is not exception

Question is to know what ll happen to this island in the future...if the school stop... a place for retired people ?
