160715 WORLD 420: DAY 1 WARM ITALIAN WELCOME IN MARINA AREGAI

You ll find more than 2800  pictures in free picking about this world event. It ll be the first world championship and the last we ll cover.

Quality is uneven especially on the grey minefield of the last days as it's was a real challenge to use the Nikon lens on the small Lomac 4,60 and rush reprocessing sometimes could not create miracles;  anyway I uploaded as usual all pictures a parent on the other side of the planet could be happy to find.

Here we are on the big event each selected sailor wait for. A lot of delegation came safely through Nice airport, including on 14 july and can concentrate now on sailing. May be we all should be happy to  have a sport wich is not concentrating big crowd on a single spot...

We come back again to Italy, so closed to french riviera but also so different. Everything seems sometimes very complicated but find quickly a solution with nice smiles.

Cristal clear sky, good wind, the chilly conditions in Europe bring very good weather around marina Aregai and most of the teams trained again today, before or after the measurement party.

A full day with the end of measurement,  the practice race and the opening ceremony.

All seems perfect for tomorrow !

The opening ceremony was a great success;  Eric DUBILLOT with Jean Louis CHADOUTAUD add their talents...and wide angles to capture all the energy of the teams in Santo Stefano.

DAY 4:  WHERE IS THE WIND ? (

Waiting party on shore, then offshore but the wind vanished in the afternoon...

Each one could relax a few hours aboard, but it was really impossible to launch anything...

After a relative chilly couple of days, weather seems to change and everybody hope now to enjoy at least the daily summer thermic.

Wind arrived arrived in Santo Stefano around lunchtime and 3 races could be completed, we follow the 2 first races in OPEN FLEET (blue and yellow)

160720 DAY 6: LADIES N U17 + OPEN 6Q (457 pictures)

A long day on board starting with a sunny waiting party. We gave most of our day to the lady and under17 competition.

Don't expect splashy shots for the 2 first albums,  but a lot of smiles from all countries, each one with own waiting strategy . Later 3 races could be completed and we stayed at the windward marker for U17 fleet and both yellow and blue ladies fleet before joining the last race of the open fleet .
