Price to pay for this second and last year participation of Jim/Victor is a "nuit blanche" in transport with a pick up in Amsterdam airport ...but how can you miss this event before leaving the 420 class ?

=> A demo of german "savoir faire" in term of organisation with slow driving shining "Audi quattro" to help to park the trailers...Who says you cannot find money in dinghy sailing ?
=> A reasonnable price to participate thanks to the huge green camping next to the water where you can throw your individual tent for 5 euros/night and with cheap food nearby.
=> The vintage Ostgerman style lay out including the loudy speaker nobody can miss during the day, but a real youngsters melting pot with modern "bon enfant" music during evenings.
=> Above all: Top race in the year with straight rules: 2016 offer170 crews from 16 countries ...
Each serious as no serious sailor must participate once to this special event
DAY 1: 6 albums 554 pictures
3 fleet for 3 races with light medium wind and shoppy conditions with a reduction on last race.No splash today, these pictures are just a way to show you were in Kiel on this 23 june.
DAY 2: 1 album 89 pictures (2 starts 420, classics n J70)
Storm was not far and warning signal arrived only at 16h30 for some series including 420, 2 starts (yellow and blue) cancellation and all boats return to dock;
A day to watch the classics and J70... life is everywhere during Kiel week including downtown each evening.
DAY 3: 2 albums 255 pictures
Grey and wet day in Kiel ...with a waiting party under the rain to start and a finish with even more rain to sail back to dock: 3 races anyway with a wind catching up along the day.
Some pictures are "limit" to be on line but as nobody else is stupid enough to risk expensive Nikon material with such a weather, 267 pictures ll give a memory about this 3rd day.

As many times final result put the best best crews on the 10% top places and wind versatility (as 3rd, 8th and 9th races on this 2016 Kiel regatta) choice the winner ...

It seems more and more people use the "do it yourself"system to avoid the waiting party and we can be sure organizers will improve this point for 2017.

3 races with Sun and Splash for the final day
In that way, the rule of 2 discards instead of 1 is very usefull in KIEL and release also a lot of stress. But nobody can contest supremacy of 2016 US winner, (who won already in 2015, finishing also last year 2nd in world and 1st in euro event).
Unfortunatly, no picture about the price giving as we were caught in the AUDI system to get back our dinghy.
