150530 Cannes "Finale de ligue" Cata/Mini J Day 1 (94 pict.)

3 clubs of Cannes : Cannes Jeunesse, Yacht Club de Cannes and Cannes Croisette join force to organize this yearly PACA (Provence Cote d'Azur). This event conclude a serie of all the season regattas and attract a lot of different light boats: B293, RSX, RACEBOARD, OPTIMIST, MINI J, LASER (4,7-RADIAL n STANDARD), 420, 29er, EUROPE, FINN, TYKA, SL (15,5 n 16), HOBIE CAT 16, "FLOTTE COLLECTIVE"...A short event but a real challenge to organize with 3 race areas, this year in beautiful but sometimes very tricky playground of Cannes.

Event started on saturday at 14h30 except for Mini J. About 420 and other series, the light east wind offered 2 races and everybody could be on dock before 5h00, early enough for the pasta party.

Even with the splashless conditions (around 6kn giving poor conditions for action pictures), this was pleasant to butterfly in all the bay to see new faces, new colors, new situations...but what a pity to miss boards and cats in real action!

Conditions of wind didn't change on sunday and allowed 3 races more ; with a single camera, impossible again to be everywhere to cover seriously the event. Pictures just give an idea of the number of floating objects with smiles on board racing both sides of Palm Beach. Speed is also a challenge to determine for all classes final ranking of the sailing season and to organize the prize giving of these numerous podiums.
