The CIMA (coupe internationale de la mediterranee et de l'amitie) is one of the most competitive regatta in France.

The prize for the top crews is to participate directly to the summer 420 international events;

the world championship in Karatsu (Japan)

> the Eurosaf in Brest (France)

-> the junior european championship in Burgas (Bulgaria)

The very active club organize around Patrick , Denis and Sandy many events and you can meet in Bandol  during the mild winter various sailing teams from all over North Europe : you can sail almost everyday here...if you add the sun and the charms of the city promenade with the numerous restaurants at a walking distance, no surprise !

As "special crews", Laurie Candela will participate to her first CIMA...with his 470 sailor father Michel.

Only one race for both fleet with around 10 knots as second race was cancelled due to a huge shift to the right of rage vanishing breeze.

Not the best weather in Bandol today with a lighter wind and a covered sky...

The committee managed to valid 2 races even if, as yesterday, the 1st race of the groupe 2 was cancelled before the gate... These ultra light conditions are a gift to riviera boats who won the 2 races

Bandol: Atlantic crews came back in both groups

In Groupe 1: VINCENT/MAS from sr Antibes got the best regularity: They got a 3nd victory in race 4 but were dominated in race 5 by DEMANGE A/ROUX from sn sablais and in race 6 by ladyclub mates LEFORT/GRANIER. with atlantic crew HERAIL/LEPOUTRE and sra girls KAMPMAN/POTHIEU, these 5 boats dominated all the races.

A bit more open was the fight in group 2: CARAYON/LUCAS from yc crouesty won 2 races (4 n 6) as sra crew PEDRON/MICHAL got 5th race after a 3nd place in race 4 and before a bfd in race 6. Other 2 places:  LECROCQ/MICHEL from cv st Aubin Elboeuf (race 6), VENNIN/ZUGOLARO from cn Enghien/cv st Aubin Elboeuf (race 4) and

1st  start of the day for the silver fleet

Great for Gracianne /Badri, (Nice), Carayon/lucas (Le Crouesty) and J Demange/Capon (Nantes) leading 1st race.

Left side closed to the shore...sometimes good, sometimes not...

The fleet is now divided in gold and silver fleet...The wind is much lighter today and the choice of option made sometimes huge difference: In a gold fleet, it's not so easy to to come back as yesterday if you arrive too late to the windward marker.

At this game PEDRON/MICHAL and LEFORT/GRANIER consolidate top position as around 10 points behind, 2 boats from atlantic HERAIL/LEPOUTRE and CARAYON/LUCAS (with the win of 2 more races ) made a huge benefit of light conditions to share (within 6 points) positions of riviera's crews KAMPMAN/PONTHIEU and VINCENT/MAS as this day was not really their best

3 races more on final day, this time both fleet move offshore in front of Sanary. Covered sky and medium wind to play with.

GOLD FLEET

About men, the 2 experienced leaders PEDRON/MICHAL from riviera and HERAIL/LEPOUTRE from atlantic secure all the 3 races within the top 10 and arrive on a logical 1st and 2nd places of this CIMA

Young team CARAYON/LUCAS  from Le Crouesty confirmed the super result of days 3 n 4 and got a brillant 3rd step.

About ladies, it was a very tight finish: Experienced LEFORT/GRANIER arrived 4th just 4 points ahead young wonder team KAMPMAN/PONTHIEU, both from SR ANTIBES. Th 3rd place is for FAUROUX/RAGUET, (Pauline FAUROUX was 2014 under 17yo world champion with Anael PONTHIEU)
