1908 AROUND THE FAR NORTH "in the fog again"
I can tack with pretty strong NW to no distant OTTER COVE where life is plentyfull. The current tables n the hope to welcome Helena on a landing spot pushed me to leave the cove at 5h00 next morning: An impressive start alone by a moonlless dark night with help of GPS track n radar and... howling wolves, just on shore 100m away. But another time, no way to see them !
I motor mostly all the way in the fog the cape SCOTT and to BULL HARBOUR the other side; a strange cruise, partly in the fog in an absolute calm sea where you can detect the tiniest detail...
Out of Wintercove, some short tacks with NW to overnight in GRANT BAY...

...one of the best beach of the island, with an access from WINTER HARBOUR
ALCYONE could sail to the entrance of SEA OTTER COVE...
..surprisingly, alone again (as an human only) in this last good anchorage before rounding the cape...

Which other creature can you find in a place named SEA OTTER COVE ?
these are a bit more shy that their relatives from WINTER HARBOUR
These 2 other residents are wise to use this raft regarding what happenned to their offshore brothers next morning:

No whale, no orca, just seals...
Cape SCOTT is behind in the fog...pacific ocean is really sleeping today n the engines are running...
A fishfarm guard now the former coast guard station of BULL HARBOUR,

a very protected place in a tiny island...
... a bit too narrow to accomodate a lot of cruisers,
but large enough for cars, the most successfull endemic specie in CANADA

A permanent running generator secure the last inhabitants...
when nature come back the other side of the island .
